Personality

Our little guy is becoming such a personality.  He hums to himself as he’s walking, counts random stuff, and wants to be very independent.  He was making up a song in the car Saturday while we were driving around doing errands.

Today I had him sit in the front seat of the car while I moved it out of the garage so Joe could park the truck inside. He insisted the belt be buckled “click-click” - then looked at me and said “do stuff.”  (Apparently this is what Joe tells him they are going to do when they drive around running errands, getting groceries, shopping, etc.  They are going to “do some stuff.”)

So I put him in his own seat (which he wasn’t too happy about) and went for gas and chocolate milk at BK.  Yes, apparently I’m letting the child dictate what I’m going to do.

First day of school - August 25, 2009

The teacher marked down that Joey was:

  • in a happy mood
  • a good listener
  • very busy
  • ate only a little

From her written notes - “Joe had an awesome first day!  He ws very active in the gym.  He really enjoyed gluing on cotton balls to make cotton candy and marching with friends.”

Here is a picture of our little guy on his first day of school.  We couldn’t find our real camera so this is not very good quality.

Full Sentence

We had dropped him at the Pre School for 2 hours, and when we got back to get him they were all in the “great room” playing, so we went back to his classroom to get his coat and when we got there he said “no room now, mommy and daddy home “.. i’d say that was a sentence..

Day care/school

We picked a day care for Joey - we like to think of it more like a school.  :)  We’ll get him enrolled this week at Especially for Children in Edina.  He liked it when we toured and so did we.  He’ll be going 3 mornings a week, interacting with kids his age, playing, painting, coloring… we think it will be a good thing.

playing catch

Joey is getting pretty good!  Here he is having a little difficulty keeping his eye on the ball because he is watching his reflection in the oven door.
