18 Months

Joey is 18 months old today.  We had his doctor appointment and he is 32 3/4 inches tall, 25 lbs 10 oz. Growing like a weed.

Here is a picture from one of his Kindermusik classes (May 2, 2009)

Pictures

We took Joey to JC Penney for his 18 month pictures on Saturday.  It went really well.  He followed instructions to smile, sit down, lay down, kneel, say cheese - I was really impressed with his behavior.  The photo session took about 10 minutes, then he went out and made friends with everyone in the waiting room while we waited for them to put our pictures on the computer for us to review.  Here are some very low res images from the day.

Green Red Blue Yellow

Today using the “color octopus”  Joey was pushing the color and then saying the name of the color.. It’s one of the new things he’s picked up..

1 + 1 = 2

So in Joey’s “big” book there is a whale, and on the whale page are 2 small fishes, so he points at one and says that (which means what is that) and i say fish, he then points at other fish on the page and says “that” and i say fish.. then then says “2″..

He then counts them 1,2…

Good times..

See You Soon….

We’ve been working with joey so that he doesn’t get upset when Mommy or Daddy isn’t around, so we’ve been using the word “Soon” when he asks for the person that isn’t there.. Tonight he was on his truck and was leaving the room saying “bye, See you soon” it was hilarious.

MS Walk 2009

We had a beautiful day for the MS Walk this year.  Here is a picture of us taking a break at the half-way point.  Joey actually walked a little bit after that, then he also walked across the finish line clapping and cheering “Yay! Yay!”  Before the event, we made the shirt he is wearing - those are his little green footprints across the front.

Chores and Tasks

Today I asked Joey go to the kitchen table and bring me the camera. He did it, were both amazed. Yesterday, I tied off Joey’s diaper Genie and dropped it on the floor, he’s helped me carry it to the garage before, this time I told him to bring it to the garage and I walked with him. I so have to get a video of him doing that. He so desperately wants to be able to put his shoes on when we are going bye bye, but we think it will be a little while longer before he can do that, but he’s trying.

Why??? Why?? Why?

Why?? The boy asks this for just about everything, we just explain what we want him to do a little more, what is odd about it is he will only ask 2 or 3 times then he’ll go …ok.. and do what you want him to do.. Funny, and annoying all at the same time. Part of growing up as the books tell us.
