Swim lesson

Joey’s lessons are going so well.  He loves the water and kicks his feet to chase the floating balls.  The teacher had him flat-out floating on his back – she was supporting him with only two fingers behind his head and he just laid there in the water for a count of 10 like it was no big thing.  Amazing how she did that.  For me? Not so much success but I’ll get it.

Joey is catching items now

I threw a stuffed animal at Joey, knocking him over.  He got up laughing and brought it back to me, and walked backwards away… when he was 6 feet away i told him i was going to throw it at him and he put up his hands in front laughing all the time. So i tossed it to him and he caught it.. not just 1 time, but 5 times in a row, so we will work more with him in that skill. He also got to spend some time at the local playground today, I’ll post pics but he was all over the playground going down 4 different slides, and climbing a rope ladder and everything. -Joe

Mom gets kisses

So Joey demonstrated that he understood “reward for behavior.” I took a toy away from him that he was playing with and told him that he could have it if he gave mom a kiss.. He went to her, kissed her and raced back to me for me to give him his toy back..

Scary Stairs

Joey has been seeing and now must copy everyone walking up and down the stairs holding onto the rail and walking rather than going down on his bottom or tummy. Very scary indeed, but so far he has been lucky.

Big Boy Bed

Yep, as you can see the little man went to sleep in the big boy bed during his afternoon nap. He’s so big in that bid but at least he didn’t fight the nap.

Warning, watch your fingers

So today it seems I taught joey to do a couple of things. 1. if you put your finger in my mouth, I will bite it.  2. if someone puts their finger in your he will bite you.  Didn’t mean to teach him that, but he needed to learn to not put his fingers in other people’s mouth. So this evening Sherri was checking him for molars and he grabbed her hand to hold it there and started to bite her.. So we had to tell her no no no don’t put your finger in people’s mouths.. He has 2 molars by the way, so that’s 10 teeth total.

Are we there yet?

When we are in the car for a long time (going to the farm or to friend’s lake cabin) Joey’s version of “are we there yet?” is to ask “all done?” over and over and over.  He kicks his feet, grabs his seat belt/harness, grins and asks “all done?” We say “not yet,” he answers with “All done?” - “not yet” - “All done?” - etc., etc., etc.
