More pictures

So we are going to take lots of pictures of our little one, I guess it was inevitable.  He looks pretty good in blue!

Cousins

My brother Michael brought his family to visit a few weeks back and we took the opportunity to get a picture of our little red-head with his only red-headed cousin Casey (who is now 16, by the way. I remember when he was Joey’s size!).

Poor Baby

Ok, so the day after shots, Joey was not eating as much as he usually does.  I had him on a pillow on my lap, sitting in bed, just hanging out and talking with him.  Next thing I know, projectile vomit is spewing from his little mouth.  He completely soaked himself from his neck to his toes, sprayed the pillow, me and onto the bed past my side as well.  Poor little guy.  I tried so hard not to freak out and scare him;  I called for Joe since I’m not good with vomit.  Joe undressed him, gave him to me for a quick shower and then stripped the sheets.  It is quite a scary site to see so much liquid come out of that little body so forcefully.  :(

2 Month Shots

Joey had his 2 month appointment today and had to get 4 shots plus an oral immunization.  The girl at least was quick about it.  He cried but got over it pretty quickly.  There has been some lingering sensitivity for the rest of today - he doesn’t want to be put down in his crib.  Poor little guy.

Joe’s Birthday

Luke and I baked Joe’s favorite - German chocolate cake for his birthday this year.  Luke even put in all the candle by himself!  We had a really good time - Luke is very good at stirring and keeping the spoon in the bowl!  Good training, Amy!

Here he is getting started with the eggs.

8 Hours!

Well, it finally happened…Joey went to sleep at 10:00 pm and slept until just after 6:00 am - 8 whole hours! Unfortunately, I woke up at 2:30 waiting for him to wake up.

Joey is sick

While we were in NC we saw a lot of people and Joey was held by lots and lots of relatives and friends. Unfortunately he now has a cough, stuffy nose, low-grade fever and a runny eye. We went to the doctor to check that his lungs are clear and that he doesn’t have an ear infection. He checked out fine - a normal old cold that should run its course in about a week. So, we’ll just watch to make sure it doesn’t get any worse and that he doesn’t lose his appetite.

4-Wheelin’

Walter & Missy bought a used 4-wheeler for Bryan and Joey jumped right on for a spin. Gotta start them young! Walter got a picture of him on it but we are having some difficulty getting the picture - bummer.

Sad News

January 3, 2008

It is with sad hearts that we send the news that our loved one, my Mom, Ann Scoggins, has passed away and gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind so many people that she touched with her life. Her smile, soothing touch or even a warm hello to a complete stranger in the grocery line, were just some of the traits that made up a small part of incredibly vibrant woman she was, and the way in which she touched those around her. I will miss her greatly. IMG_1112-cropped

Even during her sickness, trying to fight the disease that ravished her, she had but one thought and that was to try to help and comfort others that were suffering and being treated at the same facility. The thought of her family being burdened with any detail of her passing just consumed her, she would just not have any of that and planned her service the way she wanted to be remembered.

She always thought of others needs before her own needs and was faithful to her family, her pastor and to her church.

She will always live on in our hearts and though we are without her physical presence now, the remembrances of her selflessness, sacrifices and loving ways will continue to help make us just a little bit better, and continue to make the world a happier place.

This little movie is a reminder to live with love, the way Mom did: http://www.simpletruths.com/dash/index.html
