First smile
Joey has been smiling at us off and on but today (Dec. 27) he really reacted to his daddy talking to him with a big grin that went all the way to his eyes. It was so cute.
Visit to North Carolina
We flew out to NC on Thursday, Dec. 20 to visit with Joe’s side of the family for Christmas. We stayed with Lee and Davis Thursday night in Atlanta, then drove to Fayetteville to stay with Ann and Joe.
Joey did really well on the plane! He nursed a little and then pretty much slept the whole time for both the trip out there and the trip back. I think the passengers next to us were pleasantly surprised. It is always scary when you see people traveling with little babies - you immediately expect the worst crying nightmare for the whole trip.
Ann got to hold little Joey for some time - she was really moved and we all cried a lot. She told us how precious he was to her. Grandmother Peggy was also very excited about the little guy. She gave him a soft, fuzzy Gund bear - it’s really cute.
Missy, Walter and Bryan are doing well. The were leaving to visit with his Mom the same day we were leaving to come home (Dec. 27). Bryan gave Joey a little blue dinosaur (Rhino) out of his own collection - it was a very thoughtful and special gift.
What a hair-raising experience!
Laughing baby
We had Joey in the little papasan chair and Joe put his foot under it to bounce him up and down. The little boy actually grinned and laughed a little. It was really cute. We even tried it twice to see if it was just a fluke and he did it again. After that, he just enjoyed the ride and looked at us like we were goofy. Here is Addisen playing with Joey in the papasan chair.
